Hallux Valgus : en quelques mots

L’oignon « hallux valgus » est une pathologie très fréquente, plus chez la femme que chez l’homme. On y réfère souvent comme « une bosse sur le côté du pied ».

En fait, l’hallux valgus est une déformation du gros orteil qui pointe vers le second orteil plutôt que vers l’avant. Cette déformation produit un mauvais alignement des structures qui cause cette bosse sur le côté.

En soi, l’hallux valgus n’est pas héréditaire. C’est la flexibilité ligamentaire et les structures du pied qui le sont. Toutefois, un pied coincé dans une chaussure inadéquate ou, un pied en déséquilibre biomécanique, favorisera la formation de l’hallux valgus.

Les signes et symptômes d’un hallux valgus sont :

Raideur
Douleur à la marche, à la course ou simplement en position debout
Rougeur
Déformation du gros orteil ( bosse sur le côté)
Déformation des orteils voisines
Corne sous le côté du gros orteil
Chaussures déformées à l’avant-pied
Difficulté à se chausser.

Il est aussi possible d’avoir un hallux valgus asymptomatique. C’est-à-dire qui n’occasionne aucune douleur. Dans ces cas, la déformation sera tout de même présente et le seul embêtement apparent serait la difficulté à se chausser.

Orthèse dyanimque

Fruit des recherches de scientifiques et orthopédistes en collaboration avec le célèbre Fraunhofer Institute d’Allemagne, sa particularité est de permettre la flexion et l’extension de l’articulation métatarso-phalangienne du premier orteil. Simplement dit, elle permet au gros orteil de plier à la marche.

Orthèse statique

Elle est donc différente des autres orthèses offertes pour l’alignement de l’hallux valgus. Ces dernières, appelées orthèses d’alignement statiques, ou de repos, pour hallux valgus immobilisent complètement le mouvement de l’articulation. Le déroulement du pas est donc restreint, comme si le gros orteil était dans un plâtre.
