Should I meet with the orthotist before or after seeing the doctor?
Either. You can consult one of our orthotists first. He/she will conduct a functional biomechanical evaluation and gate analysis, and will provide you with a list of recommendations as well as a complete report of the evaluation. You can then give this to your doctor, who will proceed with the medical examination, diagnosis and prescription, if he judges that orthotics are necessary.
Or you can consult your doctor first. You will then have his prescription in hand when meeting with one of our orthotists. He/she will then conduct a functional biomechanical evaluation and gate analysis, and design the orthotics in accordance with the doctor’s prescription and complete evaluation.
